A. Called to order at 6:30 pm (1830).
B. Persons in attendance: 8 member/ 5 non-member.
C. Exchequer reports about $600 in the shire account.
D. The Shire's new device will be submitted ASAP.
E. The Shire will donate $50 to the Young Marines for their services at the last two feasts. Approved by the Financial Committee.
F. The Shire needs arrows – if four or five individuals want to buy a dozen arrows@ $42, I can get the Shire's arrows at a nominal cost. These are the economy arrows, 28" 30/35 lb with crimped tips. Contact Art.

G. Fall Feast– October 24th, 2009 – "Stone Soup Feast" celebrating the local harvest.

Location: Pavilion at Anderson River Park.
Site will open at 1:00 pm, Close at 10:00 pm, we must be out at 11:00 pm.
There will be shire members on site earlier to facilitate site prep.
The Meal will be served at about 5:00 pm.

Theme: Masqued Ball. There will be a prize for the best Masque (a LOVELY decorative bottle filled with a mystery liquid, rumoured to be Chocolate Port!)
Auction. The populace is again encouraged to craft items for the auction. (These have been doing well.)
Tickets: Pre-sale encouraged.
Adults (13 +) $10
Children (12-) $5
Family Cap $35 (for this event family is defined as one or two adults with dependent minors.)
Off-board tickets discussed – no price set.

I. Meetings are at the Anderson River Park at 6:30 PM 2nd Thursday of the Month now with rapier practice held concurrently.

J. 4th Thursday of the month will be heavy fighter practice and Arts & Sciences (See above for August's A&S)

K. The shire will welcome any ideas about fundraising.

Stone Soup FEAST and Masqued Ball
Bestwode Schire (Redding, CA)
Join us for a day of fun and frolic and an evening of feasting and merriment. We will have an assortment of activities, including a treasure hunt for the smalls (12 and under,) Archery, Thrown Weapons, Heavy and Rapier combat, Bocce, Quoits and a masque making table. The Masqued Ball will follow the Feast with a prize for the "Best Masque." The feast Menu is Chicken or Venison Stew, Greek
Lemon Soup, Coleslaw, Kus-kus, Potatoes and Irish Soda Bread with whipped honey-butter. Dessert is Potluck (Bring what you Like!) Please bring outdoor seating with you for the afternoon activities.

Site Information: Anderson River Park. Site opens at 1:00 pm and closes at 10:00 pm. Site fee: $10 adults (13+), $5 children (12-), $35 Family cap. Pre-event tickets (encouraged).

Directions: Take I-5 to Anderson, CA. Take the Riverside exit.
From the North: Turn right on Riverside.
From the South: Turn Left on Riverside.
From Riverside: Turn left on North Street/Airport Road (lighted intersection.) Turn right on Stingy Lane. Turn right on Rupert(Look for sign.) After entering the park turn left(Look for Sign.) Site is the gazebo to your right, parking is to the left
